A Day in the life of an intern at Geluk

Meet the vibrant Intern Psychological Counsellors, Simone Fourie and Cinde-Lee Koopman, who recently joined the Geluk Team. Every week, they will share an article that gives you an insight into their experience at Geluk Psychology Services. What better way than to start at the beginning? Here is what they thought of their first month at Geluk Psychology Services.

Simone Fourie

“Coming into this experience, I didn’t know what to expect, because I’d never been in an environment such as this before. From the first day, it was full steam ahead, all systems go! I’ve never been so busy in my life! But I loved it because there wasn’t a single moment to sit around or do nothing. In my first week at Geluk, we did a little bit of everything. We compiled reports, administered and analysed psychometric tests (ask us anything about a drawing of a tree), and made calls to various clients. One thing I have enjoyed at Geluk thus far is the culture. I get along so well with everyone here and we have the best laughs during our stretch breaks. Everyone here was so vibrant, hardworking, and supportive since the day I met them. They have been so accepting and welcoming to us, which has made the transition into a fast-paced environment that much easier. I know that we have high professional standards to uphold at Geluk, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. I can’t wait to see what the next few months will hold here.

Cinde-Lee Koopman

“I had no idea what to expect on my first day stepping in as an intern. I was extremely nervous and at the same time, extremely excited and grateful. My first day exceeded every expectation I had. Not that I expected it to be calm and uneventful, but how it turned out was far beyond my imagination. Work was immediately assigned to me and before I knew it, I had to do tests on clients. A lovely surprise: was being placed in my own beautiful and spacious office. Another highlight from my first week was having to be the one to start the day off with a short prayer on my first day. I instantly fell in love with all the colleagues, the atmosphere, and the overall vibe/energy at Geluk.
I look forward to what’s to come!”

Watch this space next week when they’ll share their views on Hypnotherapy and its sudden return into the spotlight.
